He'll answer...if you listen closely.

#LongPostWarning Yesterday, my husband and watched a series called The Scroll on PureFlix (Netflix, but all Christian movies/documentaries). A pastor spoke about how she lost her baby after giving birth at 21 weeks. I'll never forget week 21 and 22. It was the day after our wedding (literally) and we were in Beaumont Hospital, not on our honeymoon. Faith was born, but soon died. Jeremiah was born a week later, and died while I was in surgery from losing so much blood. Years later, I'd hear testimonies of people who had babies at 21 weeks, 20 weeks, 23 weeks, and even though the babies stayed in the hospital a while, they lived. Doctors never even attempted to save mine. And so very simply I asked God why?

And I got my answer yesterday, watching a documentary called The Scroll that most people probably have not stumbled upon.

The female pastor simply said, "Because God knew you could handle it." Now that sounds religious, cliche, almost not enough. But isn't that His Word? He never puts more on us than we can bear. This was a heavy weight to bear, but now Jermaine and I get to minister to couples who may have gone (or will go through) the same thing from a place of authenticity and love. Why you? Because God knew you could handle it.
