Held’s Hero Award Presented to Jessica Eldridge for Q1 2024

Jessica Eldridge: Heart Health Advocate for Women

Our Q1 2024 Held’s Hero Award recipient, Jessica Eldridge, was recently elected as co-chair of the American Heart Association’s 2024 Go Red for Women – Southern New England Campaign. Jessica’s election comes after years of involvement with the organization, which is responsible for educating millions of women, allowing access to programs and services for health equity, and investing in research for heart health.

Jessica is also a member of the Go Red for Women’s Circle of Red, which is a giving society of passionate individuals who are in the fight against heart disease and stroke. Together, the group works collaboratively to support lifesaving research, advocate for healthier communities, and improve patient care and equitable health for all people.

Jessica shares, “18 years ago, my grandmother suffered a heart attack while exercising. My family and I are fortunate to still have my grandmother with us today, because of a woman who recognized the signs of a heart attack and called 911 right away. As a mother of two young girls with a family history of heart disease, making a difference is paramount to me, even if it saves one life. Sharing our voices and stories is crucial to ensuring more women are aware of heart disease and its prevention.”

Jessica advises anyone seeking a volunteer opportunity to find a cause they are passionate about by doing online research, asking colleagues where they volunteer, or connecting with J.S. Held Helping Hands. She stresses to others that by volunteering, even the smallest contribution, it can make a real difference to the lives of people, animals, and organizations. In doing so, the experience can be enriching for all.

“The connections I have made personally and professionally through volunteering have had a huge impact on my life,” Jessica adds. “It’s important that we all work together to build a better tomorrow.”

We are proud of Jessica and the tremendous work she continues to do both in and outside of J.S. Held. As the Q1 2024 Held’s Hero Award recipient, J.S. Held will make a financial contribution to the American Heart Association in Jessica’s honor.
