Heisman Trophy Candidate #3 - Matt Corral of Ole Miss

Matt Corral of Ole Miss has thrust himself into Heisman Trophy contention due to his spectacular play and the Rebels 2-0 start to the season. He is 43 of 65 for 662 yards with 6 touchdowns and no interceptions in 2 games so far. Both games were Ole Miss wins but the schedule becomes daunting starting this weekend as they host Tulane followed by a trip to Tuscaloosa to face #1 Alabama on Saturday 10/2. The Rebels only break from SEC play the rest of 2021 is a home game against upstart Liberty on Saturday 11/6 in Oxford. Matt Corral will need to be at his best each week for Ole Miss to keep winning and hopefully challenge for the SEC West Division Title. It will be difficult for the Rebels but not impossible especially if Corral maintains his current form throughout the rest of the campaign. I expect Matt Corral to be in the thick of the Heisman Trophy race all season. I look forward to previewing another Candidate next week as we make our way through another great College Football campaign.
