HEC Paris in Qatar’s Impacting the Middle East
For years, people from the Middle East have traveled overseas in order to seek out educational excellence. In 2010, HEC Paris in Qatar brought world-class graduate management education programs to Doha and the Gulf, eliminating the need for many future leaders to leave their country and region for study. The result? Ambitious and aspiring learners – many of whom are highly committed to playing a role in the realization of their national and personal goals – could now develop their skills locally.
At HEC Paris in Qatar, we understand that leadership development contributes to enhancing the economic aspirations of a nation, by helping build a knowledge-based cadre of national talent. We continue the legacy of HEC Paris, which has been helping develop leaders since 1881 through programs that are focused on the leadership, economic, and social challenges of the times.
Recognizing that human development is one of the primary goals and one of the main drivers of sustainable development – our programs, the Executive MBA and Specialized Master’s in Strategic Business Unit Management are tailored to specific regional issues while being strongly aligned to the Qatar National Vision and building knowledge-based societies to nurture the potential of local talent. Our mission is to impact business and society through research, education, and action, contributing to a more inclusive, prosperous, and sustainable world. HEC Paris' role is to ‘Think. Teach. Act.’

To this end, we recently launched the Business Research Lab, a dedicated laboratory that produces case studies on GCC businesses and organizations. This is important because case studies broaden our thinking by capturing specific challenges faced by organizations at a specific moment in time, providing an in-depth analysis of each contextual detail while shedding light on complex and highly relevant issues. It has particular relevance in this region because there has been, and continues to be, such rapid business growth and development, much of which is undocumented.
During this new year, we will launch a new Executive Education program, the Advanced Management Program, regionally tailored and focused on developing leaders. Throughout 2023, we will continue to share knowledge with our participants and other ecosystem stakeholders, from governments and policymakers to business partners and investors, as well as the international academic community, to create positive action and impact in Qatar and around the world.
