Hebrews 10:24 - A Culture of Encouragement
Ken Gosnell
Let’s connect if you’re a CEO / Kingdom-minded leader / Christian business owner
I believe that there are certain Bible verses that every #CEO and #leader needs to know. The wisdom of the Bible is timeless, and it still works in our world today. Today, I want to share with you a few thoughts on Hebrews 10:24
Hebrews 10:24 says, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”
This verse holds profound insight for Christian business leaders who want to build organizations that not only succeed financially but also make a lasting impact for God’s Kingdom. It challenges them to think about how they can actively encourage those around them — their employees, clients, and peers—to pursue love and good deeds in their work and daily lives.
In business, it’s easy to focus solely on metrics like profit, market share, and productivity. However, leaders who follow Christ are called to consider something deeper: how they can inspire others to live out their faith through love and meaningful actions.
The responsibility to “spur one another on” challenges Well Done Leaders to foster environments where people are encouraged, motivated, and supported in both their personal and professional growth.
Create a Culture of Encouragement
The word spur in this verse implies active encouragement and positive pressure to move people toward something better. As business leaders, you have the ability to create a culture that fosters this kind of support. You can encourage your teams to excel in their work, but also to go beyond work—helping them develop character, integrity, and love for others.
Building a culture of encouragement means leading by example.
CEO Talk: Are you taking the time to recognize the strengths, contributions, and potential of those around you? Do you actively seek out ways to uplift your teams, not just when it benefits the company but also when it benefits them personally?

Inspire Others to Do Good
The second half of the verse calls Well Done Leaders to spur one another on toward good deeds. For Christian business leaders, this means encouraging your teams to use their talents and resources to make a difference, not just in the company but in the world. You have a unique opportunity to align your business goals with the greater good, creating a lasting impact in your communities and beyond.
Encouraging good deeds could mean supporting employees in their volunteer efforts, using your business’s resources for charitable work, or developing products and services that meet real-world needs. When you inspire your teams to think beyond profits and consider how their work can contribute to the common good, you foster a sense of purpose that transcends the bottom line.
One More Second Step Comment
Leaders who embrace the call of Hebrews 10:24 will not only build successful businesses but also nurture environments where people thrive personally, professionally, and spiritually. By creating a culture that emphasizes encouragement, love, and good deeds, you move from simply managing a company to cultivating a movement.
People are drawn to organizations that stand for something greater than themselves. By spurring one another on toward love and good deeds, you not only inspire individuals to grow but also create a ripple effect that impacts clients, communities, and even industries.
Hebrews 10:24 challenges Christian business leaders to take an active role in encouraging and inspiring those around them. By focusing on love and good deeds, you can create a work environment that not only achieves success but also reflects the heart of God. As you lead with purpose and encourage your teams to do the same, you will see both your businesses and the people within them flourish.
