Heavy-Wall pipe - when & where to use it

Rainclear Systems recently added a Heavier-walled Downpipe, with a cast eared socket, to the Cast Aluminium Rainwater Range. Available in Textured Black in 10 days.

Where & When?

The NEW Heavy (i.e. thicker) wall pipe in 76mm (3”) diameter has a 3.2mm thick wall (vs the 1.2mm wall of the usual Cast Aluminum rainwater range downpipe)

It's ideal, therefore, for the high traffic end of each downpipe drop.

(A 'drop' is where the downpipe runs down from the gutter, via an outlet or hopper, to the foundations and into the subsurface drains usually via a ‘shoe’ into an open grate (see Image 2.), or directly through to the subsurface drains – worth including an ‘access pipe’ to enable the clearing of debris from the downpipe if this option is chosen).

It slots straight into the regular wall-weight round downpipes but offers greater durability – taking the hard knocks without showing it - making it ideal for Schools and Equestrian buildings.

You can probably think of other locations where it would be a good idea to have a more robust pipe at the bottom of a drop.
