Birch VS Acer: Same look, different performance

If you’ve been following us for a while you may be wondering why it looks similar to the Acer heat pump?

Following the success and positive reception of the Acer CO2 heat pump's design, we have maintained the same sleek exterior for the Birch.

However, despite their identical appearance, the Birch and Acer models are fundamentally different on the inside.

The Birch utilises R290 (propane) possesses distinct thermodynamic properties compared to CO2. Each refrigerant has a different temperature profile suitable for different applications.

Our standard R290 system can achieve temperatures up to 65°C, while our new high-temperature variant can reach an impressive 80°C with a 10°C differential, making it ideal for retrofit applications.

The Acer CO2 goes up to 75°C flow with a big 45°C differential making it ideal for hot water, new build and super efficient systems.
