Heat Pump Installations are Hotting Up!
You may have heard that Energy Secretary, Grant Shapps, ruled out hydrogen as an option for home heating last week, after a government investigation concluded that the cost to pipe hydrogen into people's homes is too high.
Which is good news for the heat pump industry. To reach our 2050 net zero deadline, heat pumps (less costly, safer and more efficient) must now take centre stage.
Advisers have urged the government to give more than two million low-income households a free heat pump to replace their gas boiler. And Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, has increased the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), meaning homeowners can now get ￡7,500 off a heat pump installation.
If you're not already qualified to install heat pumps (and battery storage systems), now's the time. There's a barrage of work coming the industry's way!
