Scottish Enterprise is launching a Green Heat Hub Grand Challenge on 12th September. This is an open application for consortia to submit project proposals for a Green Heat Hub, aimed to position Scotland as the leading location in Europe for green heat manufacturing.

It will look to build on existing company capability, particularly in leading demonstrator projects and capitalising on academic strengths.?The Grand Challenge will:??

• enable and facilitate industry, academic and third sector collaborations to drive industry leadership on the Green Heat transition
• develop an ambitious, robust, project proposal focused on the implementation and operational delivery of a Green Heat Hub in Scotland.??

Key objectives are to:

• develop a centre for collaboration for companies and customers,
• act as a window of green heat solutions of the future,
• anchor companies in Scotland through support for their growth ambitions, and
• provide a focal point for inward investors, and driving industry leadership.

The Grand Challenge will follow a two-stage application process: consortia will submit a pre-proposal application.?Successful consortia applicants will then be invited to the full proposal stage, with a grant of up to ￡75,000 to support your development costs.

An introductory webinar will be held on the 7th September 11-12 am. Speakers will discuss Scotland’s ambitions for Green Heat transition, current industry challenges and future opportunities, importance of industry collaboration and the role and objectives of the Green Heat Hub.
