A Heartfelt Thanks from Salaam B'y - A Story of a Muslim Newfoundlander

Salaam and Hello!

We just wanted to send an enormous thank you for your support for our documentary project, "Salaam B'y - A Story of a Muslim Newfoundlander". Thanks to you, we were able to reach our goal of $15,000!!!

We recently returned from a trip of a lifetime, our tour across Newfoundland visiting 7 towns in 11 days and driving over 2000km + a ferry ride traversing the island speaking at schools, public libraries, a museum and Memorial University. We had the film production team join us for three big stops:

• Clarenville (population ~6,000) - my hometown.
• St. John's (population ~110,000) - my second home, where I went to university, living 7 years in total.
• Bell Island (population ~2,000) - a small island off the coast of the Avalon Peninsula that invited me to speak, so we jumped on a ferry and went!

Watching the three-person film team at work was astonishing. The diligence and long hours they spent capturing around 50 hours of footage of multiple facets of the island to make a 15-20 minute documentary was inspiring. The film is now in post-production editing and we will definitely keep you updated on it's release! Our goal is to make this film as accessible as possible for all. We hope that you can help us share it once completed.

While in Newfoundland, we also were fortunate to have CBC, Canada's national public broadcaster, record a radio documentary during my hometown visit to Clarenville (to be released in a few weeks). We look forward to sharing both the radio and film documentary far and wide.
