"What If..." By Lonee Gwyn
For this first issue of my newsletter I wanted to discuss some food for thought ideas. One of those ideas is how to resolve crisis issues that not only are developing in my community, but can be found nationally and even globally. So here it goes.
What if we could prevent homelessness? Without the "red tape" involved processes that slow things down, could we reduce the harm of homelessness that is found in our communities? What would it take?
One idea I would submit would be to encourage tiny home communities. Not big dollar land deals and real estate but small gated communities that would be low cost options to benefit homeless with being responsible for the upkeep of their own tiny home and pitching in with each community, along with being able to be self-productive by being involved.
Too long, we as a community have been thwarted when it comes to resolving this crisis of our fellow man. This could be a way to prevent our cities and towns from being overwhelmed by bodies littering our streets. If communities worked together to get these simple yet profound tiny homes up and running, each homeless individual would have a safer, cleaner, healthier start to being more productive, engaging member of our communities.
Any other ideas for this matter will be welcomed.
