Heart + Paw Celebrates 5-Year Anniversary

On September 1st, Heart + Paw reaches an important milestone—our 5-year anniversary!? This is certainly a day to celebrate as the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that 45% of new start-up businesses fail within five years.? What makes this milestone even more significant is that we truly have created something very different in the veterinary profession.?

As I reflect on the journey, it is hard to believe how quickly the time has passed since we first set out with our “blank piece of paper” and two clear goals:? creating a place where veterinary care providers can practice being happy, healthy, and successful along with the desire to treat pets and their parents like family the way no one else has.? I am both proud and inspired at what we have accomplished.? On my visits, our teams seem engaged and excited about the care, style, play and stay we offer our pets and their parents.? While I realize we are far from perfect, I know we have a winning culture that allows our team members to feel as though they are part of a family that cares for one another, can challenge one another, and can embrace differences in how we serve our communities.?

In my role, I often get to tell the founding story of our practice.? Each time, I talk about our teams. I remark about the high-quality care we provide to pets-it is surpassed by none.? I talk about how resilient we are in handling the challenges of veterinary medicine, served on the front lines throughout a pandemic and are re-engaging with communities to serve and advocate for pets.? I also talk about how forward-thinking we are in our approach to new technology, therapeutics, and ways to advance veterinary medicine.? I am in awe at seeing the next wave of leaders developing and know we will be having a wonderful impact on the industry.?

This anniversary gives me the chance to thank all our teams for making this vision come to life.? Several team members have been with me from “day two” as I like to say.? Many followed me and took a leap of faith on something new in veterinary medicine.? Still others were willing to transition from a successful established practice and join like-minded people in this new Heart + Paw community.? I am grateful to each one of them for being an integral part of Heart + Paw and for trailblazing something unique.? They make the vision a reality every day and are the true heroes in the Heart + Paw story.?

Happy 5th year anniversary and I look forward to the many years ahead of petcare reimagined.?
