A Heart Full of Warmth

Membership Growth Consultant Iman Hassan, followed up with a patient from Dedicated Senior Southfield, Michigan after her appointment. She asked her how everything went during her visit and if there was anything she needed. After a few moments of silence, the patient told Hassan that she needed a furnace as hers had been broken beyond repair and she couldn’t afford to buy a new one. Hassan knew a bit about the patient’s personal life through their conversations and knew she had been struggling.

“[This patient] takes care of her son and daughter who have disabilities,” commented Hassan. “I was worried that this family would be sitting in the cold waiting on a heater to keep them warm. I wanted to find out the best way to help her.”?

Hassan reached out to her team for suggestions, and they worked together to figure out the best solution. Director of Growth and Business Development, Tabitha Gray, decided to start a GoFundMe account to raise funds for the patient and her family. Within three days they had reached their goal and were able to provide the patient with enough funds to purchase a new heater. Through a Facebook post, Gray was even able to connect with a heating company that offered a discounted rate on the heater. That same week, the company installed a new heater for the patient. Thanks to these team members’ hearts and efforts, this family will be staying warm this winter.
