The heart, and cardiovascular system are the first mechanisms within the human operating system to develop in the fetus. It is the most critical organ in the body as it provides the electromagnetic spark that fuels the chakra system. Located below the throat chakra, and at the intersection of the middle and upper chakras, the heart is where the magic of awakening begins. It is the repository of all emotions, and as such, the condition of one's heart is the most telling indicator of spiritual and mental health. Thoughts are governed by emotions and each emotion holds a distinct frequency.
Hawkins' Map of Consciousness as seen below, is an excellent color-coded illustration of how this concept works. Energetic log represents vibrational frequency. You can easily deduce that lower vibrational emotions (shame, guilt, grief) vibrate at a much lower frequency than your high vibrational emotions (peace, joy, love). High vibration connotes movement, whereas low frequency lends itself to stagnation. Stagnation leads to blockages and blockages stem from unresolved, stagnant and unpredictable emotions from the lower chakras. So, as you align to your true north and begin to experience new emotions, the natural result of healing is levity. I should also add that emotions are often the vehicle utilized by the soul to recall past lives. That nagging feeling that you can't quite shake, or that phobia that seems silly might not even originate in this lifetime.

Naturally, once armed with this understanding of energetic signatures and how they affect us, we should become more intentional in our decisions regarding home and office furnishings and products. But today we are going to focus on our first vibration raising experience. It's called volunteerism and it's kind of a thing. I'll share an experience that opened my heart recently, beginning with my entering a design competition in 2021. I design lighting and plumbing fixtures and hope to bring them to market some day. After modeling prototypes, I sought an expert renderer to visualize the fixtures in an actual space. I worked as a professional rendered for a major fashion label in NYC (shout out George Brescia ) right after graduating from Parsons, so I knew the quality that I was looking for. Out of 3,500+ connections on LinkedIn, I utilized my network to find Kirill Dmitriev , CEO at CGI Studio in Kiev. This was just about a year before the war in Ukraine started. I didn't win the competition but it was good practice, and I made a professional contact that I liked, whose work is high-quality and reasonably priced. We communicated using Whatsapp and shouted one another out on LinkedIn from time to time.

Fast forward to the day bombs started falling on Kiev. I sent a message to the only person I knew in Kiev, Dmitry, asking if there was anything that I could do. He responded with a list of information for the general public. I forwarded his info to local and national news outlets and drove over to the local Ukranian church. He was adamant about their need for medical tape, gauze, stuff like that. At one point I was able to call Dmitry so that he could speak to the volunteers at the church directly.
About 3 weeks prior to the war, I had started a 4 week accelerated commercial sewing class. I come from a tribe of Alabama quilt-makers and was tossing around the idea of restarting the family tradition. ESPERANZA THREADS INC is a non-profit located on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio. Part of their mission is to soften the landing of refugees, those recently released from confinement, and community members like myself by offering free classes. Once the class is done the students' are tested and given a certificate of completion. They are also exposed to a little known, but thriving textile market that starts workers at $18 to $20 per hour, only a few months after their arrival to the city.
It all started the day I was scheduled to learn the embroidery machine. We were making cross-body bags and I decided to stuff my bag with first aid supplies to send to Dmitry and his family. It was a paltry contribution as compared to the needs of the Ukranian people, but barring filling a container with 45,000 lbs of gauze and tape to achieve a full load, I was doing the best that I could do. Then, one day I was speaking to Sister Mary Eileen Boyd, the founder of Esperanza Threads and I told her about my relationship with a stranger from Kiev and the dilemma that I faced. Out of nowhere she said, "We can make bags with the Ukrainian flag on them for the church to sell to raise money for the effort." I was floored and my heart was wide open. Dmitry thought it was cool. I sent him picture and video updates regularly, and he checks in with me at least once a week. I keep up with the news and check in on them often. They are all ok!
