Heart Broken

Heart Broken

I am not usually one to use these forums to spread these kinds of news but sometimes some things have to be said.  Bremerton School District lead by Superintendent Aaron Leavell and Principal John Polm has put the clamps on Assistant football coach Joe Kennedy from praying a personal and quiet prayer at mid-field after football games.  Now I understand that some of you are offended by acts like this when it comes to prayer.  I understand we have different religions and faiths bases.  So maybe, even if I really stretch myself I can understand that you are offended by an individual right to express himself in this manner.  But the School summarily suspended the coach and ordered him to stay away from the football team...at its practices and on the sidelines.  Ok ok ok ok.  That is really going against the first amendment in freedom of religion.  I also further get that some argue the weak argument of separation of church and state and most would like to see a society with freedom FROM religion.  No worries.  But then just after 47 members of congress sent Superintendent Aaron Leavell and Principal John Polm a letter highlighting the violation of coach Kennedy’s right to pray,  the school had no problem with avowed Satan worshipers from Satanic Temple of Seattle "praying" at last Friday night's game. In fact, they were personally invited by some of the school's students and teachers.

Now folks, have we as a society become so anti-Christian that we will allow anything else but Christians to live free?  What is this hostility about?  I mean even if you are not religious, or even if you have a different form of faith, is this really ok in your mind?  Invite the church of Satan to Pray at the same game that you forbid the coach to pray at?  You allow the Church of Satan to pray over the game while you cannot allow coach to pray quietly?  People, are you that afraid of GOD that you will not let us speak with him?

There is so much I can say to this but I believe it is a waste of my breathe.  All I can say to this is that I am heart broken.  Heart broken for our future generations that they have to grow up in this kind of environment where the influence of everything goes and commonsense is nonexistent.  I am also heart broken that we have become so intolerant of GOD.  No matter how you see GOD, the intolerance of him is appalling.  If we look back at the time of Noah, and not the recent Hollywood movie about Noah, but what the bible says, we see an all too familiar scene being acted out.  The Bible said that GOD sent a rainbow as a promise that he will no more flood the earth, but he did say we will feel his wrath…….I wonder what that will be…..

Thoughts?

I think you have missed the point. If I am on the football team and not Christian, I would not necessarily want to participate, which would then single me out as anti-Christian. This kind of forced conformity has no place on a public school sports team. Furthermore, if the coach was truly a good TEAM coach, he would know better than to initiate a possibly polarizing event that would only serve his own religious purposes. As someone who was persecuted by my own "Christian" parents into attending a homophobic church and forced into conformity through intimidation and fear, I cannot let this comment slide without a response.
