Mervyn King is the undisputed global champion of good governance. 

He is credited with creating the framework which helped prepare post-Apartheid South Africa as it re-entered the world economic system, following the release of Nelson Mandela from prison in 1990, and the latter's election as South Africa's first democratically-elected President in 1994.

The four governance reports which bear his name - King I, II, III and IV - focused as much on social justice and stakeholder empowerment as they did on business practice, and influenced governance thinking around the world. They have been described as "the most effective summary of the best international practices in corporate governance".

Mervyn King remains the most influential governance thought leader on the world stage, acknowledged as the champion of progressive governance thinking on enterprise value creation, sustainability and integrated reporting.
