Heap becomes part of Topdanmark

Founded in November 2019, Heap is a 100% digital pension platform developed as a collaboration between Topdanmark, Rainmaking and Heap Holding's three co-founders, built to flexibly and sustainably offer Topdanmark’s life insurance products. With Heap, customers can decide for themselves how often to pay into their savings, and how their life insurance should be put together, all on?a system which can be suited to meet any individual's needs. ?

In recent news, Heap has become a part of Topdanmark, with the company taking over all shares of Heap A/S on April 1st of this year at the same time as the digital insurance intermediary will be integrated into the Topdanmark Group. The acquisition is strategic, aiming to further strengthen and expand Heap’s flexible solutions through the utilisation of several distribution channels.?

The move also comes as part of Topdanmark’s Digital First strategy, of which a central part is being able to offer a market-leading digital and individualised customer experience. With the inclusion of Heap, which as a startup was born digitally, Topdanmark is taking another step in the right direction towards this goal.?

- There are things to gain for both parties.?In addition to Topdanmark being able to help Heap ensure the right conditions for further development and accelerated growth, the acquisition can also strengthen the digital customer experience throughout Topdanmark, says Vivian Byrholt, Executive Vice President and CEO of Topdanmark Livsforsikring.?

The same message comes from Jeppe Winther Christensen, co-founder of Heap.?

In the two years since being founded, Heap has built a 1,300-person strong customer base, with DKK 150 million under management and a 73 in Net Promoter Score. The acquisition will accelerate Heap’s growth journey towards becoming the preferred retirement solution for the modern workforce with its 100% digital solution.?
