33% Fewer Car Journeys in London by 2041

Transport for London has published it's new transport strategy with its Healthy Streets programme at its heart. The aim is to increase the proportion of trips made on foot, by bike and on public transport.

There is currently a total of 27 million trips per day in London, 36% (9.6m journeys) made by car. The total is due to increase by 20% by 2041 to 32 million trips. However, under the plans, only 20% (6.4m) of these will be made by car.
