Hey there! We’ve entered October, which means spooky season is upon us. There’s a whole month of scares ahead, but this week I want to call out a fear that isn’t of the fun, haunted-house variety. Sunday scaries (perhaps the original workplace buzzword) are impacting Gen Z at disproportionate rates. The term may be a tad overused these days, but it points to a serious rise in employee stress and anxiety that deserves our attention and action.
This ties into an important event taking place next week. World Mental Health Day is on Thursday, October 10th, and this year’s (very relevant) theme is “It’s Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace.” I’ve found an article on mental well-being initiatives to honor the occasion, and I hope it can serve as a jumping-off point for all of us as we further this crucial cause.
