A healthy family life can create a healthy work life during a recession - how can HR create this?
In our talk show ‘Close The Loop’, we speak to leaders in the #HR world about some of the most pressing issues in HR and how health benefits can provide the answers. In our latest episode, one of ETHRWorld’s most influential HR voices for the last 3 years, Aadil Bandukwala, shared a beautiful anecdote in the context of building strong employer brands during recessions.
He was talking about a job shift with his wife and she asked him a simple question.
“Do you really want to leave LinkedIn? They take such good care of us."
Aadil explained the relevance of the question by explaining the difference between ‘take good care of you’ and ‘take good care of us’. He said “The secret to a happy work life is a happy family life. If everything is sorted at home I will devote my hundred percent here.”
Personalised benefits, especially health benefits, can help HR leaders create this.
Help in need is help indeed - the Loop app combines with our claims advisor to make the difference to a customer’s employee when it mattered the most
Ajay, an engineer at an agri-feed company often fought with his wife Rohini over one thing. She said Ajay didn’t know ‘how to ask for help’. Last month, Rohini fell seriously ill and had to be admitted. As Ajay did the paperwork, he felt lost. When he began pushing himself to figure it all out, a nurse told him that Rohini was asking for him. Ajay realized he needed to call someone. He picked up his phone and noticed the Loop app. An app seemed easier than a verbal conversation. Ajay was an engineer, after all. Loop’s customer support offered to send over a claims advisor to the hospital. Within 30 minutes, Nikhil was at the hospital. He took over everything as Ajay went to Rohini. Ajay teared up as he saw how relieved Rohini looked when she saw him. He smiled through his tears and told her they had help.

Combining healthcare and insurance expertise - how we reduced 50k to 2k for an employee, in 15 mins.
Rohan, a senior manager at a logistics company, was a great believer in ‘planning ahead’. When Rohan’s son fell ill and the hospital quoted ?1 lakh, Rohan wasn’t frazzled as he believed his employer’s GHI would cover it. Then the TPA (Third Party Administered) assessed the bill and said Rohan would have to pay ?50,000 from his own pocket. Rohan’s home loan was at risk. Rohan reached out to Loop, and within three minutes, they connected him to our claims specialist Dr Shivangi. She took a close look at the bill and called the TPA. Within 15 minutes, Rohan was sent a new bill for just ?2,000. Rohan was relieved. He realised that planning could go a long way, but expertise tells you where to go.

Employees may need to top up health insurance - support them with top ups
While every employer provides group health insurance to its employees, the health insurance plan doesn’t necessarily cover the specific needs of all employees. These could include a greater number of dependents on some employers, specific medical conditions which require surgeries or the risks associated with specific roles and jobs. The Super Top Up is a tailor-made solution for these employers which allows employees to increase their coverage while enjoying all the benefits that come with their employer’s health insurance plan.
Mr Pathare, an employee of Japfa Comfeed India Pvt. Ltd., had to undergo multiple complicated surgeries for a serious ailment. The bills amounted to over 1.5 lakhs and he was only able to afford them because of the additional coverage provided by Loop’s Super-top up. Check out his story above.
Why does Health Insurance only cater to a part of an employee’s healthcare journey?
Loop co-founders Amrit Singh and Shami Raj spoke at our recent event Thrive in Mumbai, about how to look at an employee’s healthcare journey in a holistic manner and how combining healthcare with health insurance is the way to go.
