- Health tech company will be biggest in the world - American healthcare is worth $4 trillion, which is five times the global advertising industry that makes up much of the revenue for four of the world's current most valuable companies (Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon), Daisy Wolf and Vijay Pande wrote in a Nov. 11 Andreessen Horowitz?blog post. All four Big Tech firms are trying to break into healthcare.

The new collaborations come as hospitals continue to weather significant headwinds, like high staffing costs and volatile admissions.
- HCA CEO to Big Tech: You Can’t Disrupt Healthcare Like You’ve Disrupted Other Industries - Big Tech companies like Amazon, Google and IBM can’t disrupt healthcare with the same approach they have used to enter other industries, HCA Healthcare CEO Sam Hazen said at HLTH 2022. He argued that technology companies won't be able to infiltrate healthcare from afar. Instead, they must embed themselves into everyday healthcare interactions at hospitals in order for their products and services to be truly impactful.
- Patient engagement technology can improve health equity - Health disparities across gender, geography, socioeconomic status, race and ethnicity lines have an outsized impact on health outcomes. As providers and payers look to bridge gaps in care caused by such disparities, patient engagement can be an effective tactic.
