HealthTag... the why!
Andrew Saad??
CEO, Founder | Bypa-ss | We’re hiring | healthcare right, digitalizing information exchange
It was the emergency room in a governmental hospital, an old lady aching and I knowing nothing about her behind the HealthTag where all your personal health records are accessible through a physical card
Designed for everyone whether they are a PhD holder or knows how to do math by heart but never attended a school class.
Whether you’re conscious or not , your health records available in the right time for people around you to help.
For such thing to happen we needed to feed your HealthTag with medically reliable data this why we ventured into providing clinics, pharmacies and labs with their own portals with tailored value proposition for each and every segment of them whether they are dealing with 10 patients a day or operate a chain of hundreds of care providing locations we are executing one simple mission Empowering Who Cares.
We in Bypa-ss -the startup behind- HealthTag believe that people care about each other, we believe in goodness in people.
We want to empower that goodness with reliable information , whether a passerby knowing they should raise your legs, give you some water and sugar or in hospital saving precious minutes for they now know your blood type and all your past conditions.
Working with clinics and other care stages we knew instantly there’s a need and area beyond emergency to be tackled with regular healthcare service and with HealthTag platform we managed to tackle some and have enough data sets to help solve more.
With e-prescription, all physicians’ notes, and labs in one place patients and care providers now have a different level of care to operate within.
In one of our pilots with a governmental oncology center, patients were suffering from missing a radiotherapy /chemotherapy session for some paper got lost of their paper files this resulting into a week with no session endangering the whole treatment plan. This was the usual case before HealthTag stepping in as a people-centered solution empowering them at a personal level whether care provider or receiver.
It was the emergency room in a governmental hospital and a young lady this time with a HealthTag and a trained colleague around this time our colleague knew everything about the patient, her name , pain and past heart studies and labs this time they took the right decision in less than 15 minutes.
It was very needed that incident for us to keep moving forward knowing we finally managed to change it across all stages of healthcare adding quality.
WHO definition of quality of care is “the extent to which health care services provided to individuals and patient populations improve desired health outcomes. In order to achieve this, health care must be safe, effective, timely, efficient, equitable and people-centered”
With the rise of health tech apps providing many services like tele-medicine, drug delivery, booking and much more it's still scattered healthcare system but digitally scattered this why we position ourselves clearly as the network for Health Information Exchange (HIE).
Due many EHR providers, insurers control and lack of will, health information exchange in the US is struggling. It takes around 4-6 hours in emergency and up to 5 days to access patient’s health records from their care provider in the US.
HealthTag is helping Egypt steer clear from such mess opening more potentials into healthcare submarkets especially insurance and financing.
