Healthcare should be about taking care of patients.
But it's sad to say that we've moved far from this idea. The truth is, the system, which should focus on helping people, is often more concerned with other things. It's time we take a close look at what healthcare is focusing on today and recognize the areas that need change.
What Healthcare Is Actually Focusing On:
Healthcare as a Business: The chase for profits has taken over the true goal of patient care. Hospitals and drug companies often care more about making money than about the well-being of patients, leading to higher costs and limited access to needed treatments.
Paperwork Over Patient Care: A big part of healthcare spending goes toward paperwork and other administrative tasks. This has created a system where patients feel like numbers, and healthcare workers are too busy with paperwork instead of focusing on patient care.
Approval Over Care: Insurance companies have a lot of power, often deciding what kind of care patients can receive. Their focus on cutting costs can mean delaying or denying important treatments, leaving patients frustrated and confused.

Rules Over Relationships: Following strict rules has become more important than building relationships with patients. This focus on meeting standards can sometimes take away from personalized care.
Innovation at a Cost: While technology has brought many improvements, it has also shifted attention away from the human side of healthcare. The focus on collecting data and keeping digital records can reduce the quality of personal interaction and empathy in patient care.
Medications Over Medicine: Drug companies have a big influence, leading to a focus on medication as the main solution, often overlooking more holistic and patient-centered approaches to healthcare.
A Call to Refocus on What Matters
It’s easy to see why many feel that healthcare is no longer about the patient. But recognizing these problems is the first step toward refocusing on what’s important. At Advize, we believe it’s time to put patients back at the center of healthcare. Our mission is to work with providers and insurers to create a system that puts patient well-being first, along with ethical practices and integrity.
Let's not forget what healthcare should be about—caring for people. Together, we can make a difference.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
