As I mentioned in my last paper, I have been studying the healthcare legislative issues since we have moved out of the Pandemic Stage. I discussed how the issues I noticed are divided into three sections
a) The Move from Care in Hospitals and Dr. Offices to the home and the need to change Governmental Directions at the local, state, and federal levels to home-based and virtual care.
b) The second area that will be discussed in this paper is the healthcare policy and legislative issues to support digital health. In this paper, we will discuss the needs to ensure that the patients have a seamless care system and that is it collaborative between patients/families, caregivers, providers, and insurers
The Policy issues are:
a) Fund and Set up aggressive programs for data interoperation.
b) Develop Grants for Provider Systems and Providers to develop sophisticated digital data systems.
c) Develop legislation and statutes that ensure HIPAA and privacy issues while developing the new infrastructure
d) Provide clear regulatory guidance on digital health innovations
e) Invest in greater access to internet capabilities particularly in underserved and rural areas
