This week saw a robust round of healthcare funding announcements, with over $380 million raised across 23 deals in digital health, biotech, medical devices, and healthcare technology. The largest rounds were concentrated in clinical trials, neurotechnology, and digital health. Lindus Health led the pack at $55M for its innovative approach to clinical trials, followed by Echo Neurotechnologies securing $50M for brain-machine interfaces and Fay raising $50M for digital nutritional therapy at a $500M valuation.
European healthcare companies showed strong representation, with notable raises including Germany's Avelios Medical ($32.5M) for hospital information systems and Iceland's Arctic Therapeutics ($29M) for drug discovery. Lindus Health, "the anti-CRO" running radically faster, more reliable clinical trials, announced today that it has raised?$55M?in Series B funding. The round was led by new investor?Balderton Capital, with support from?Visionaries Club?and existing investors Creandum, firstminute capital, and Seedcamp.?
Echo Neurotechnologies, a two-year-old San Francisco startup that develops brain-machine interfaces that enable patients with severe disabilities to control devices using their thoughts via implanted electrodes, has raised $50 million. Andreessen Horowitz was the deal lead.
Fay, a San Francisco, CA-based digital nutritional therapy company, raised $50M in Series B funding at a $500M valuation. Goldman Sachs led the round. Existing investors General Catalyst and Forerunner also participated. This latest investment brings Fay’s total funding to $75M.
Zafrens, a biotech drug discovery company based in San Diego, CA, added imec.xpand to its Series A syndicate, bringing the total capital raised to USD 31m.?imec.xpand?was joined by existing investors?Prime Movers Lab, Kofa Healthcare, and Global Brain Corporation in this financing.
Avelios Medical, Munich, Germany-based provider of a hospital information system (HIS), €30M in Series A funding. Sequoia Capital led the round alongside existing investors Revent and HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds.
LYNX, a Boston, MA-based provider of a fintech platform for healthcare payments and administration, raised $27M in Series A funding. The round, which brought the total amount to $44M, was led by Flare Capital Partners, with participation from?CVS Health Ventures,?McKesson, and existing investors?.406 Ventures,?Obvious Ventures, and?Frist Cressey Ventures.
Icelandic drug discovery and development company Arctic Therapeutics (ATx) announced the successful closing of a €26.5 million oversubscribed Series A financing from a broad syndicate of international investors. Early investors and co-founders of Icelandic unicorn Kerecis and Copenhagen-listed ChemoMetec led the syndicate. The syndicate includes the EIC Fund, Iceland's largest privately held investment firm, Kaldbakur; Investcorp-backed Sanos Group; Swiss-based Cerebrum DAO; and The Lurie Family Foundation, established by US billionaire Jeffery Lurie. Icelandic institutional investors and family offices also participated in the round.
neurocare group, a mental health platform provider based in Munich, Germany, raised EUR 19.3M in funding. Backers included Impact Expansion and TVM Capital Healthcare.
ImpediMed, a Carlsbad, CA-based company specializing in medical technologies for clinically monitoring and managing fluid and body composition, has raised $15M in growth funding. SWK Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ:SWKH) was a backer.
Smile Digital Health, a Toronto, Canada-based company specializing in FHIR?-based health data solutions, received $15M in credit financing. FirePower Capital led the round.

PinkDx, Inc., a three-year-old startup based in Daly City, CA, is developing diagnostic tests to detect gynecological cancers in women with symptoms like bloating, pelvic pain, and abnormal bleeding.
