Healthcare Dimensions (Influence/Control)
The most frequently referenced health care targets for transformational improvements are point-of-service dimensions; access, quality and cost. Another series of improvement targets are influence and control dimensions, and included among these are standards, performance, accountability, compliance, efficiency, transparency, and information technology. Although these dimensions are not as closely linked to the service delivery event as the point-of-service dimensions, they are extremely important in shaping the health care system.
An increasing number of industry experts are suggesting that eliminating waste and fraud, focusing on prevention and using analytical models to identify the most cost-effective health care interventions will yield significant cost reductions. There is also a growing belief that improved quality will also lead to lower costs. The short answer as to next steps to advance health care reform is to press for affordable quality coverage for all Americans, and to implement oversight and demand accountability with respect to the delivery and reporting of health care goods and services. Pragmatic and practical oversight and accountability elements, which should be embedded in Information and Performance Management (IPM) applications, are critical to any effective and efficient health care infrastructure.

9 年Good stuff. Why have any forms? Simply swipe a card, add your PIN and/or password, digital signature, and viola, data appears. Similarly compel differing agencies to share, after you approve with your access. Want to save money in health care, get lawyers out of it. Ever since they took over, late 60's, care's gotten more expensive and bureaucratic, albeit better (technology's great). All "free" to the poor hospitals, except for St Judes, are closed, and private doctors pretty much dead, because they can't deal with the legal-beagles, so we're stuck with HMO's who, by nature, make it more expensive. Go to 1 HMO-aka single payer, and it'll become even more expensive. But, forms are annoying, all agreeing on that.
