Healthcare in the 21st century

Healthcare in the 21st century

Writing about healthcare amidst an ongoing pandemic is indeed challenging because of the constantly evolving nature of the viral disease and the death count spiralling out of control.

Nomenclature that were direct and which had simplified meanings earlier, have now taken on new dimensions. A Digital dimension that did not exist in the last century is now the new normal. A journalistic approach to writing i.e. without any bias, is a near implausibility with positions like ‘Post Truth’ being expressed as a matter of certainty.

What did humanity bargain for and what did it get?

What are the hurdles that prevents people from staying healthy?

Why are there so many in-determinates that have created barriers in healthy living options?

Is this constant churn leading us to safety or creating a mirage, an unending search for a non-existent panacea?

The more we ponder over these questions, the more resolute we become at attempting to solve the jigsaw puzzle. After all it is regarding the survival of the human race.

What is healthcare now and where do we stand in comparison to the previous century?

The answer is, not much has changed except for the semantics.

Is the one size fits all, the right approach to creating health safety?

No, it is a tried and tested method that has failed. Further attempts along the same lines has led us to the present state of delirium.

So the next obvious question is, where do we go from here?

The answer is in plain sight. We just need to go back to the first principles and recover the symbiotic nature of our existence. It is that easy and simple.

Please lookout for more entries in this space as we collectively solve the jigsaw puzzle.

Beautiful piece Harikrishnan R..?? Just adding few thoughts to what you have written. There are already plenty of evidence to suggest that the health care investments in the past have paid handsome dividends, it's about time Governments across look at investments in healthcare and education in equal fervour as Defence spending. The rural India seems to be under invested in terms of Medical Infrastructure. Again, similar to Under - insured. Healthcare industry will have a paradigm shift in coming years and I hope that it is going be inclusive for sections of the society. I am also looking forward for many more pieces from you like this in near future. It is treat to consume newer perspectives from Industry leaders.....
