Health and Wellbeing Journalist and Editor WANTED
Bruce J. Little
Head of Content, Health & Well-being Content Expert, Creative Group Head Copywriter, aspiring Ethnographer, and award-winning Playwright.
Full-time – working remotely in South Africa
I’m looking for the right/write type of health freak Journalist and Editor to join my tiny powerhouse of an Editorial Team. An outstanding opportunity for someone who can write, research and edit really well.
What sets you apart is that you’re not an opinionista. You’re not passionate about writing trendy, touchy-feely, entertainment or pop culture pieces, and have no aspirations of breaking the news on the next big government corruption scandal or celebrity infidelity.
Nope. If this is you, you’re passionate about writing medically approved content that helps people to become healthier and happier based on scientifically proven research.
CDC, BMJ, WHO, JAMA, PLOS and HBR are more than just acronyms to you.
You speak the sometimes-obscure language of the medical journal and know how to translate it in your writing in such a way that Bob the businessman can understand and integrate this information during his coffee break.
You are a stickler for detail, highly conscientious and consistent while also being a fun and easy-going colleague to work with. You don’t take it personally when your writing gets a dramatic revamp; you have excellent and continual internet access and a contingency plan in place should this cease to be the case. You’re available Monday to Friday during working hours.
Can you suggest how to prevent sciatica in a scintillating way? If you can write about cholesterol so the reader doesn’t go comatose or wax lyrical about blood pressure without being boring, I’m speaking to you.
Hard science, peer-reviewed and archived references, and an arsenal of registered medical, financial and mental health expert resources that you can call upon for your writing, would make you ideal.
You will write for an audience of several hundred thousand execs in sub-Saharan Africa, Australia, South America and much of the Asia Pacific.
If this sounds like you, please email [email protected] for further instructions.
