Health Update

In case you missed me from 8-17-17 to 9-7-17, I've been at Honor Health/JCP in Phoenix after suffering from a Sepsis, Aspirational Pneumonia, Myasthenia Gravis Crisis Event. Late evening on the 17th, I was unable to breathe as my lung collapsed during the event. Because of the Myasthenia my breathing was less than 10% and I passed out. Fortunately, I was with Debbie Hart who called the paramedics and saved my life.

For the next 2 weeks I was intubated, sedated, un-intubated, re-intubated, sedated, un-intubated and re-intubated, sedated and finally had the intubation removed. (Not a fun thing, don't ask for it)

After 2 weeks in bed, you would be surprised and a bit alarmed at how quickly the body falls apart from disuse. I could barely sit up or move from side to side.

The care I received was exemplary (there was one Nurse Ratchet) Once the intubation was removed for the last time, I started to get better...and then my lung collapsed again...I guess I wasn't done suffering quite yet. A couple days and the lung was repaired (another painful process) and went back to working on getting better.

I escaped on the night of the 7th, feeling weak but happy I would no longer be in the hospital.

I'm working on rehabbing now and according to the doctors, I need to slow down somewhat, especially with the Myasthenia Gravis. I also get to inject myself with an IV every 12 hours! Who knew health care could be self-service???

While the "Honor Health Diet" worked for me, (22 lbs) It's a little more costly than NutriSystem or Weight Watchers...
