?? Cannock Chase Hospital
We?are delighted to be working with? The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust?to deliver a new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Cannock Chase Hospital.?The brand new and permanent CDC will provide a comprehensive selection of elective diagnostic services, significantly boosting diagnostic capacity while providing patients with a more personalised and improved diagnostic experience.
Named as one of eight elective surgery hubs accredited under?NHS England's?Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT), this comes with an increased reliance on diagnostic provision.
While the Community Diagnostic Centre will make use of existing infrastructure at the hospital, the new diagnostic centre will provide an opportunity to re-design clinical pathways, substantially increasing capacity to enable diagnostic service provision to meet the needs of local populations.
??Green Plan Podcast
The NHS Net Zero Building Standard, published in February of this year, provides technical guidance to support the NHS in meeting its commitments to deliver a Net Zero health service by 2025. The approach to managing whole life carbon is relevant to all healthcare buildings, but also applies to investments in new buildings and upgrades to existing facilities that are subject to HM Treasury business case approval process and are pre-strategic OBC approval stage, from 1st October 2023 onwards.
With a focus on healthcare builds, in this?Green Plan podcast our panel of sustainability experts and NHS Trusts discuss the requirements and progress made from their own estate case studies, unpacking some of the most demanding challenges faced as well as sharing advice and expertise for Trusts continuing their journey to a greener future.

??The Concept Ward: 'The Art of the Possible'
A key focus for our Single In-Patient Rooms webinar was the research proposal being developed for the new concept ward at?James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Chief Nurse, Paul Morris, examined the measurable objectives the team will analyse as they look at the ward as a whole.

“As part of our Concept Ward we are developing a research proposal to really look at how we measure those benefits and whether they have had the intended benefits we think they have. Whether it’s improvements in infection control, length of stay, quality of care, patient feedback, staff feedback. All of that put together – what are the benefits – will help us to inform decisions as we move forwards to a New Hospital Programme.” - Paul Morris, Chief Nurse.
