?? Health on the High Street - re-thinking the delivery of healthcare
Strategic action and new ways of thinking are essential to helping to solve some of the challenges faced both by health services and high streets. Kelvin Moulding examines how Health on the High Street? provides a pioneering but simple way to transform empty retail units into local health hubs, delivering much needed healthcare for local communities:
Our first visitors to Newham Hospital
This week?we had the pleasure of showing Stephen Timms, Labour MP for East Ham, The Rt. Hon.?Jacqui Smith, chair in common for?Barts Health NHS Trust?and?Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, and Simon Ashton, chief executive of Newham Hospital, around the general ward and Critical Care Unit we are delivering for the hospital.
This new build marks an exciting time for the hospital, which is in its 40th year. The new 26-bed general ward will give the hospital flexibility so they can adapt to and meet the needs of the local population. The 14-bed Critical Care Unit will be purpose-built to enable staff to provide a better level of care for the most critically-ill patients.
"Having been involved in the early stages of developing the strategy behind this development, seeing it being built is always an exciting stage in the project journey!" - Kelvin Moulding , director, Health Spaces .

Concept Ward: James Paget University Hospital
As internal fit-out works at the new 28-bed ward at James Paget University Hospital draw closer to completion, our designers were delighted to show members of the nursing team around the space – both virtually and by touring the building. Read about our James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust project here.
??'Concept to Construction’ – intelligent hospital design
The pandemic reinforced the need for hospitals to be able to rapidly reconfigure clinical areas to meet changing needs, without the need for major building work to take place. Rooms and spaces need to be designed to change function or accommodate multiple functions.
Warren Edwards examines our approach to designing flexible spaces:
