Health Professionals Testifying in Court?

Health Professionals Testifying in Court?

Physicians and all health care professionals generally prefer not to testify in court.

Courtrooms, judges, lawyers and juries are not the "usual" work environment for health professionals. We are used to functioning in hospitals, clinics, rehab centres and in our offices.

Most health professionals would rather manage a difficult patient/client situation rather than participate in legal proceedings.

An upcoming course, taught by legal and health professionals, will provide insights into:

? Advanced skills for successful medical legal report writing

? How to address complex issues of patient compliance/

adherence, possible secondary gain, Cost of Future Care and

Future Treatment

? The role of the medical/health professional expert witness in court

? How to succeed in the various parts of expert testimony

? Becoming qualified as an expert, direct testimony, cross examination, and

re-direct testimony

? Common pitfalls and traps in court—and how to avoid them—

all demonstrated in an engaging mock trial!

We encourage the participate of all health professionals in this upcoming course.
