Health is the new Wealth
By Ana Zapiola our ChairWoman ????
Four years ago, while embracing the pandemic lockdown, I embarked on a transformative journey, one that shifted my perspective from mere living to thriving. ?It's when I realized that health is the new wealth. This wasn't just about adopting a healthier lifestyle; it was about empowering myself with a proactive approach to health which ends up leading to wellness itself.
I've come to understand that wellness transcends conventional ideas—it's not just about cucumbers on your eyes or temporary fixes. As Peter Attia, a leading voice in the field, eloquently puts it, wellness is the new medicine, a "Medicine 3.0." that enables longevity.
In the pursuit of longevity, many focus on adding years to life, but my goal is different. I aim to enhance the quality of life within the years I have. It's not just about longevity; it's about maximizing my health span within it.
In this journey, I've learned two crucial facts:
1) Food is Medicine: What we consume plays a pivotal role in our overall health. It's not just about eating; it's about nourishing our bodies with the right nutrients.
2) Beyond Healthy Eating: But here's the catch – just eating healthy isn't enough. It's a part of a larger puzzle that includes mental well-being, physical activity, and emotional balance.
Health requires a lot of self-awareness and that is very hard to find in today’s world. And it is not something you can get from one day to another or just buy at the supermarket, it is a journey, a long one.?
That’s why health is the new wealth, just start working on it. If you're seeking guidance or eager to explore the intersection of technology and wellness, I'm here to connect and share insights.
