Health

On Saturday, I posted about kicking myself in the rear and getting back into shape. I had been in the Army for 20 years.... where did it all go?

Well, let's just say, I've probably been lying to myself for a long time about physical fitness.

"Oh, I'll be ready when I need to be."

"My shoulder doesn't hurt that bad."

"It's like riding a bicycle."

I can assure you - all three of them are not true. Not at all.

What further complicates it for me is the memory of what I used to do in High School when I ran cross country. Just like Uncle Rico in Napoleon Dynamite, I tend to reminisce about the miles I ran and how running was so easy for me.

So between the Army and my natural affinity for running, I should be close to being back in shape in no time, right?

Yeah right, highspeed.

On Saturday, I threw a 30lb dumbbell into my old Alice pack and walked 4 miles. It wasn't the first time I've done this recently, so the pain wasn't quite there.

But you know what? After the first mile, I felt normal again. That may sound strange to some of you, but I did. Joints and muscles started working together and I just felt like I was gliding.

The other benefit? I started brainstorming ideas for Aerial Resupply Coffee. I started chewing on problems and generating solutions for obstacles in my way. All because I started feeling normal. Maybe it was the pain and I'm just calling it something else, but I don't think so.

Even after I was done, the soreness was not there as I thought it would be. A little Motrin, lots of stretching, and plenty of water, and I felt like I could go again the next day.

I didn't - I'm forcing myself to take a 2 day break. Tuesday though.... I'm ready.

Linkedin Accountability Group

The reception to my post about getting back in shape really seemed to resonate with many so many of you.

So that got me thinking - would an accountability group on LinkedIn be something that's worth it? Would that be something that people would enjoy?

I have no idea - I'm just in the idea generation phase. I would be interested in your thoughts, however. Let me know in the comments.

Coffee

Speaking of health - coffee is healthy. So I'm drinking more and more of it. But check this out:

My new favorite toy is the Cosori Pour Over. O.M.G. Where has this been my entire life?

If you haven't had a chance to drink coffee from a pour-over - you are 100% shortchanging yourself.

What I like the most is the reusable filter. It's been a game-changer for me. And you can pick one up on Amazon relatively cheaply.

I'd love to sell these branded with the Aerial Resupply Coffee logo. Someday. Until then you can pick it up here

Products

The absolute best value for your money from Aerial Resupply Coffee is the Cargo Bag.

All three blends of Aerial Resupply Coffee but with a flat $5 shipping fee.

Add in another bag of your favorite coffee, tumbler, mug, or shirt, and shipping is free.

That's right - free shipping on orders over $50.

If you haven't heard of us before - or want to reorder - head on over to the store and grab yourself a bag, or three.

Aerial Resupply Coffee

Look - we all know shipping sucks right now. I would love to be able to offer free shipping to you at the bare minimum of expenses, but that's not something feasible for me at the present moment.

Someday, I will be able to do that. And those of you who stick with me will be able to reap the rewards. Thank you so much as always.

Until next week.

Mike.

Michael Klemmer - Good for you to jump back into some PT for yourself. I did the same about 3 years ago and lost 50 lbs and getting down close to where I was before going to Ranger School 35 years ago! That said, my accountability group for the fitness (& fellowship) came from an organization called F3, you may have heard of it? I highly recommend it. Open to all men, free of charge, workouts are fitness focused, not "grow your chest and biceps" focused. A lot of BootCamp style workouts using various items from the playgrounds and construction sites as accessories (cinder blocks, pull-up bars, big truck tires, etc) and quite a bit of rucking goes on as well. https://f3nation.com/
