Health Information Management Journal – Volume 54, Number 1 (January 2025)

The January 2025 issue of #HIMJ is now available at https://journals.sagepub.com/home/him. This issue includes a Guest Editorial in which the authors, representing the World Health Organization, introduce what’s new with ICD-11, for both the classification itself, the training process and options available, and why these changes have occurred.

Also presented are eight research articles on a variety of topics relevant to areas of health information management: Data/coding accuracy using ICD-10 compared to ICD-11NOMED CT; clinical coding education programs for Stroke; HIM Workforce and Career development; electronic medical record use among allied health professionals and in community pharmacies; Core dataset for upper limb lymphoedema for a clinical support system; availability of documentation for data sharing and reuse in Victorian Government health information asset websites. Also included is a Professional Practice article on clinical registries as effective tool for addressing unwarranted clinical variation.
