Health, disease,depression, weight-loss and confusion

i see so many of you in a state of confusion and how the media is confusing you more and more in terms of food and health. Lets set thing straight once and for all. The very fact that we are constantly chasing what to eat, and how to live and all the time revolving our lives around health isn’t healthy. Yes there is so much information about there and views on milk, dairy, raw, meat, veganism, cross fit, yoga, chanting, meditation etc.  we are trying to choose extremes and fit within those parameters to live and yet that is not bringing us a sense of joy and completion.

I have patients ranging from diseases of diabetes, heart, kidney and liver to cancer, obesity and other rare syndromes. Many of the are extremely healthy individuals, vegetarians, meat eaters, vipassana teachers, yoga experts, milk drinkers , wheat eaters and many of them are not. Its great to have awareness about how food is changing, quality of dairy, toxicity in meats and fish and plant contamination. Its good to have awareness so we can take these learning and apply it to our life if it makes sense or if we have a disease to heal from. Its great to respect the religious sentiments of people when it comes to food and cruelty of animals, but in no way do we ned to be fanatics and impose and force and induce fear and confusion into the people who wish to eat what they want  and live how they wish you.  let me tell you in my practice, like i said, there are cancer patients who have done everything right and still gotten cancer…they have given up meat and dairy and cooked food etc,,,and there are so many people out there who carry abdominal fat, eat everything, drink, smoke, but are truly happy and they live long without sickness and suffering, this is not a line to give you permission to do that we should all ail and strive to be healthy and make healthy choices to prevent disease, but not at the cost of our peace and happiness..we need balance and moderation not extremes and tight drawn lines.  If everything was as bad as it is made to be, every dairy drinker and meat eater should be dead or with disease. Its not true. At the same time I’m not promoting indulgence in unhealthy lifestyles, i am trying to say, apply what works for your life and health and live peacefully with informed decisions. There are millions out there who don’t follow any of this and are truly happy living life, each day and are without ideas and suffering. Disease starts in the mind for most of us. Look around and see the fear and confusion that exists everywhere and how we are reacting and falling prey to it. Where has simplicity gone? Enforcing religion on people brought about years of war and death and even terrorism and now there if enforcement or a fanatical approach toward health and eating,, like puppets we are controlled by the dark side of the media and fanatical individuals,,,where is common sense and wisdom…we left it with our ancestors and chose to be taken over with all this crap….your parents ate everything, they had balance, they had movement , they had time and they lived closer to nature, they prayers, they socialised in communities, not society and yet we have it all and we are a sicker generation…. start living more and truly engaging with LIFE….health in most cases is simple…put the right nutrition in the right quantity into your body, move , sleep well and be happy, keep stress where it has to be,,,its difficult, but so was maths, science and life,,but we did it and we can do this….when we inject simplicity into life, we will be healthier and happier. Men and women out there with obesity and lots of fat, don’t despair, take your time, be calm, lose it slowly and steadily, keep your minds happy..you will not get sick the way its driven down by media,,,,if it was true only obese people would have diseases like diabetes, cancer etc, let me tell you some of the fittest people with the poorest lifestyles and messed up minds and emotions get sicker….so introspect, note the changes you want to make for your health, body and mind and start dong it slowly but surely, one day at a time…..discipline , intention and desire , practiced everyday will get you the results you want and need…

Wonderful perspective Luke Coutinho. Its not only about how one looks but also about how one feels. The latter, I think, assumes greater proportion of importance when it comes to overall health.
