Health Care Learning from Other Sectors
The goal of learning from other industries outside of the health care sector is to implement various techniques that would improve the delivery in all aspects of healthcare. Every patient should have quality experience while being treated as an out-patient, in-patient or having any type of medical treatment. The first step for creating such an experience is loyalty. As a manager in any industry, you would want your team to be taught how to provide exceptional customer service, next loyalty and its importance should be a conversation with your team. If your staff sees the importance of how essential customer service is, then your employees will what to develop, an easy way to create their own exceptional experience with their patient. Patients are our customers in healthcare, they should choose to return by choice to your organization not only for the treatment of care, but the quality of care received. Every area of health care needs some type of assistance, some sectors more than others to be honest. (Kirk Hughes, 2016)
Healthcare can benefit from the financial industry; it is a necessity for healthcare collections and billing technology systems to be updated with new policies and procedures, to accurately calculate patient deductibles and revenues. While in the food and restaurant industry, we observed consistency. However, while taking notice at several different Chick-Fil-a Restaurants; in my opinion, clinicians should be taught a few more things regarding customer service for excellent patient care. Healthcare learned from Aviation on safety manuals for medical and treatment procedures. Risk management and operations collaborating to improve and implement better safety measures for delivering medical procedures. Information on the superb power of well-trained teams of employees were given by NASCAR. New policies and regulations are always coming out to improve patient care, every candidate and healthcare professional should be trained on the delivery of medical care. The government also had their lesson from agriculture, which developed a larger and more effective group of producers. There have been many lessons taught and applied in healthcare by other industries to improve the workforce, results are both disappointing and shocking as they rolled in. (Margalit Gur-ari, 2014)
