Health Care Learning from Other Sectors

Businesses like Google, Walmart or Amazon serving in the same kind of industry have utilized several different tactics to reach their target audience; consumers seeking authentic service, affordable products and proper resolutions for inconsistencies made in error. However, healthcare operational practices specifics make it difficult to adopt particular practices because of lack of changes made in management processes, the usage of technological advancements and tools to help allocate transitions into a more organized culture amongst those who operate for success (Enders, 2008). Operational success for Ambulatory Services can be measured in the usage of Six Sigma Lean Management, SWOT Analysis and the Adaptation ofAdvanced Supply Chain Techniques and it includes E- Commerce, Collaborative Commerce and the Demand of Forecasting capabilities.

Ambulatory Outpatient Services (Operational Practices)

Ambulatory care services are essential to healthcare operational practices because it is the catalyst to bridging the gap between the reduction in emergency room visits and readmissions to help provide lucrative cost-effective strategies that will allocate preventive methods and necessary opportunities to supplement convenience with freestanding, walk-in services for specialized care. However, the financial incentives are aligned with health systems to focus on total population management rather than acute care in which has made a major shift in out- patient services (Kutscher, 2012).  This can be great for the more chronic patients who require more extensive services because this objective can expand the concepts for service lines as it pertains to specialty care.

Six Sigma Lean Management & SWOT Analysis

Ambulatory outpatient services within the healthcare workforce can use a collaborative methodology in order to improve performance systematically and removing waste and reducing unnecessary actions taken when allocating for risks that can affect productivity. Six Sigma Lean provides those concepts and analogies in order to develop a process that define, measures, analyze, improves and controls metrics for problem solving. A SWOT Analysis can provide similar evaluations, but this helps to identify internal strengths and weaknesses all the while using data to help signify opportunites both internally and externally to implement lucrative strategies to expel threats either way (Wagner, 2013).

Supply Chain Techniques (Collaborative Commerce, E-Commerce &Forecasting)

The use of supply chain techniques can help allocate innovative means to make the business aspect of healthcare more efficient by improving the way inventory and logistics are handled. Supply chain can provide predictive analytics and lucrative problem-solving tools in which can help to stay ahead of risks. The usage of corporate cards to streamline payments in which helps with more efficient ways to process payments and reduce errors. The ability to strategize outside of boundaries and improve operations techniques by using collaborative team efforts and commerce to help provide efficiency in proactive behaviors (Wilson, 2015). Supply chain techniques specific to healthcare data predicted beforehand allows forecasting to help with proactive risk management tools and exposes healthcare ambulatory services to opportunities in trends and anaylsis for operational success. E-commerce in payment acquisition will apply the necessary demands in productivity to make it lucrative to the revenue streamlined in services. Healthcare business will be able to get returns faster and borrowing objectives can seize as this system gets better.

Conclusion

Businesses outside of health care like Walmart, Amazon and Google utilizes customer satisfaction as a tool to help elevate the way they gain success. However, for healthcare the objective is to provide the same objective, but many things that take precedence over getting toward a quality value- based system; which can be measured in productivity (workforce), process management and proactive innovative resolutions to stay ahead of trends. For operational success, the best practices for ambulatory outpatient services are to streamline possibilities by using resources and process strategies to help manage waste, potential risk and use those innovations within healthcare organizations to help expose leaders to new ideas and greater evaluations to better standardize and execute successful measurements.
