Sarva Jana Suki No Bhavanthu!. The meaning of the above is “Let the whole world be healthier”.
What is Suki?
Suki is an AI-powered, voice-enabled digital assistant that lifts the administrative burden from doctors. It completes quickly and accurately administrative tasks, from clinical notes to retrieving patient lab results.
Suki is used in dozens of specialities, including family practice, gynaecology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, cardiology, Suki reduces documentation time by an average of 76 per cent.
Suki was founded by Punit Soni, a former executive at Google and Flipkart, and its team includes technologists from Apple, Google, IBM Watson and McKinsey, and physicians from the University of California, San Francisco and Stanford. Suki is backed by investors such as Venrock, First Round, Social Capital, and Marc Benioff. To learn more, visit?suki.ai.
Why Suki?
We have suffered significant setbacks during the COVID-19 epidemic, but artificial intelligence and machine learning can assist address some of these gaps. Suki is the best of its kind of voice assistant that can transform the lives of the medical field staff.
What is the potential of AI and machine learning? Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to a variety of techniques used to create computers that have human-like intelligence. Machine learning is a subset of this vast science that includes combining massive quantities of data with complex algorithms in machines so that they may “learn” certain jobs automatically.
How Suki?
For example, the voice-Assistants, similar to Siri, Suki, uses artificial intelligence to help medical practitioners record clinical notes.
“Google’s AI and cloud offerings are already advancing innovative, new clinical solutions across the health care system. As a partner of Google Cloud, we hope to provide even greater value to enterprise health systems by improving clinical workflows, relieving physician burnout, and, most importantly, help more doctors in more specialities remain focused on delivering high-quality care,” said Punit Soni, founder and CEO of Suki.
“Suki is leveraging the power of Google Cloud to develop a digital assistant that will save doctors time and drive value for health systems. We look forward to working together to improve the ability of doctors to practice medicine and reduce physician burnout.,” said Aashima Gupta, Director, Global Healthcare Solutions, at Google Cloud.
Suki is able to learn and adapt to the practitioner’s style and preferences using a subset of machine learning called natural language processing, and improve with each use.
The AI technology may also connect to a hospital’s electronic health records and generate prescriptions based on patterns and doses, which the doctor can then examine and confirm.
Suki’s website promises a 100% accuracy record, a 76 per cent decrease in documentation time, and is presently used at 85 sites around the United States.
“Our Innovation Lab is partnering with industry to drive innovation with the latest proven advanced technologies: cloud, AI/ML, voice and mobile technologies, to optimize the family medicine experience,” said Waldren.
“To be successful, companies that develop healthcare technology need an intimate understanding of the provider experience and context to bridge that gap. Suki has demonstrated dedication to physicians’ needs through the convening of Suki Experts,” said Dr Bisinger.
We have seen that for healthcare AI to successfully serve all people, its development needs input from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. I’m excited to work with this impressive group that brings a breadth of experience both clinically and personally.
As we learn from best practices and explore artificial intelligence in new contexts, we must also learn from past challenges. If properly developed, artificial intelligence and machine learning can help us do that.
What else?
In the current context, an artificial intelligence tool developed by New York University researchers is using predictive analytics. This tool finds patterns among patients with early COVID-19 symptoms and identifies who are more likely to get extremely sick. So far, the tool has had a 70–80% success rate using data from 53 patients. Currently, in its experimental stage, the researchers are making further developments by expanding the data and improving accuracy.
Empirical study of classifiers on early detection of the COVID-19 is here.
