Wow! We are halfway through already and here is Tip #5:
UPLEVEL YOUR HABITS TO CONTROL CRAVINGS.
Making simple changes to our daily habits helps us to avoid triggers. Drive a different way home from work so you don't pass your favourite restaurant or junk food pit-stop. Go grocery shopping after eating (so you're less tempted) and avoid the middle aisles (so you stick with more REAL food options).
Is 2 o'clock in the afternoon or 8 o'clock at night your daily time for a "chocolate fix"? Set your phone alarm for 10 minutes ahead of your usual "treat" time and swap it out for a tall glass of water, an apple and a handful of nuts, a brisk walk or a few flights of stairs.
Habits become habits through repetition. Remember, we don't "quit habits", but rather we "replace behaviours". We can begin to create NEW habits though practice and based on the results we truly want to see in our lives. Go back to your WHY (in Tip #1) and the "bird's eye view" of your life (from Tip #2) and keep making DECISIONS from a place of greater awareness.
