Slow cook using less liquid and more oil with light seasoning, including stewing, pressure cooking, simmering and marinating. Take all drinks warm or hot.
Chew each bite completely before swallowing.
- Buckwheat (unless the kidneys and bladder are too contracted), whole grains, such as barley and millet, and brown, black, and wild rice
- Soba and buckwheat noodles
- Beans, especially smaller beans, such as adzuki, black soy, lentils and chickpeas
- Miso soups
- Dried tofu
- Cooked tempeh
- Fresh-water fish (trout) or white fish—Once or twice per week
- Root and dried vegetables—Dried daikon, shitake mushrooms, kale, carrot, parsley, turnip and cabbage
- Algae and sea vegetables—Kombu, arame, wakame, nori and hitziki
- Pickles
- Dried fruit—Black berries and watermelon
- Cooked fruit—Apples and pears
- Dark sesame seeds
- Chestnuts
- Dried fish condiment
- Bancha tea and kombu tea
