The Healing Beauty of Improv

Going from feeling like my body was so offensive that people I didn't even know had to approach me to ask what's wrong to stepping into a career in front of the world's camera was quite the journey, let me tell ya.
As human beings, we tend to be our own worst critics. Having that amplified after years of bullying created quite the internal self-doubt battering that lingered past the stream of successes that followed.
Relatable much?
My long-term case of the "no matter what you do, you're not good enough"' 's fueled an internal drive to keep pushing harder in life, no matter what. It took a lot of value evidence to help convince and prove to myself that those negative thoughts weren't true.
I pursued modeling as an unsigned model to prove the power of believing in yourself.
Along the way to 7 magazine covers, high-end luxury modeling career on national TV, being a top modeling school instructor for a leading modeling school, global-industry leading product marketer, and internationally-awarded empowerment speaker... I found confidence in an area of life that made me feel like I was a badass.
That sassy, "can't nobody tell me NOTHIN'" vibe.
My good friend and media personality, Romeo International (@romeointernational1), pointed out that the energy I get when I step on a modeling set is very different than when I'm pouring empowerment into others with Model CityZen, my passionately purpose-driven entrepreneurship. He told me to name that feisty energy I get.
I call her Sasha Foxx.
My good friend and Transformational Coach, Garth Sandiford (@bigheartwarrior) told me to summon Sasha Foxx energy in times of self-doubt as I build out my dream.
I tap into her energy as I'd serve tables at fine dining restaurants, grocery shopping, cleaning the house, etc. to build the practice of feeling that conquistador mindset in everyday tasks.
And then I began applying her to my more challenging tasks; negative self-talk hurdles.

Channeling my inner Sasha Foxx:
When I begin to notice my self-limiting intrusive thoughts creeping in, I build the habit of asking, "how would Sasha Foxx move through this situation?"
Summoning my own deep-rooted, empowering persona instead of drawing from an outside source helped build authentic self-love. I was acknowledging and encouraging my own actual inner strength instead of keeping it in the shadow to only acknowledge and draw from someone else's.
Halloween season Homework:
What area of life makes you feel like a badass?
Is it when you're nurturing your garden? When you're captaining your boat on a sunny day? Maybe it's when you're speaking life into others, like me. Whatever role it uniquely is that boosts your confidence, focus on that.
Imagine turning that high-vibrational energy into a character on a set. Put a name/attitude/look for your persona at your most confident and unstoppable.
What's their name?
On a set, actions and movements are slightly more exaggerated so ramp up that energy a bit. How does your character move through situations with their confidence turned all the way up? Comment below!!
