We deeply thank Dr. Newton Kondaveti, founder of Quantum Life University, for his talk on inner child. It is truly transformational and gives lot of insights.
We all have our inner child which unconditionally loves, which appreciates everything (values), which spontaneously accepts events, which naturally feels the divinity and moves with freedom. The original state of our inner child used to be this blissful but changes itself with the upbringing overtime.
As we are molded through our upbringing and conditioning during our childhood, our inner child forms its own perceptions and belief system about the world, feeling unprotected, not accepted, not valued, feeling lack of freedom, and not experiencing unconditional love. It carries these beliefs and perceptions into adulthood, and reinforces them at every incident which triggers any of the past memories. Meditation helps in healing, transcending and reprogramming these feelings and perceptions and heals the inner child.
Feeling unprotected (Survival mode): If there are constant arguments in the family / workplace / environment, then the inner child feels insecure and feels unprotected. The inner child exhibits survival thinking pattern and stops performing at their best.
Conditional love: If the family / workplace / environment gives things conditionally (Ex: if you do well I will give you this.), the inner child forms a perception that things in life do not come naturally. It feels that love is conditional and wouldn’t accept unexpected gifts that may come along the way.
Undervalued:If the family / workplace / environment is constantly judging (for e.g., judgments like ‘you cannot answer well’, ‘you can’t do this’.), then the inner child feels undervalued. Slowly, it withdraws from life. It won’t have interest to do things, and does not take any initiatives.
Not accepted: If the inner child hears only "NO" to its requests from the environment, it thinks it is not being accepted.
Lack of freedom: Over discipline or strict discipline makes the inner child feel a lack of freedom, and stops mixing up with people whom it perceives as disciplined.
Wisdom sharing from Dr. Newton Kondaveti
Spirituality is all about unlearning our past learnings such as beliefs, negative patterns, limited thoughts, fears, etc…
Jesus Christ said "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.â€
Child like qualities are hidden due to the conditioning of the mind. With meditation, we can access the inner child energy to heal some of the negative patterns.
Time = love Love is essential need for child and in fact it is most important ingredient to the child’s development. Therefore, spending time with the kid in a right way is the key to make them feel they are loved.
Attention = Worth It is very important to give attention to the child. When the child receives attention from parents, the child feels worthy.
Affection = Approval One must express affection through caring and loving words. Missing affection in childhood leads to lack of self-approval and the child tends to seek approval from outside to feel affectionate.
Guidance = Competence Nurturing discipline is a key which helps to increase our will power to do greater things in our lives. Every spiritual master needs self-discipline. Addictions in children are often due to missing father’s energy around.
Crystallization of personality happens by the age of 21. Do not blame parents and give all that you missed out as a child to yourself (your inner child) with your meditation. People can heal rapidly with connecting to their inner child and experiencing the pure joy again.
Meditation helps to change this inner child conditioning in us. It helps in emptying and reprogramming our subconscious mind. With the larger understanding that "I am unlimited" and "I am unconditionally loved", the old limiting beliefs of the inner child are reprogrammed with newer “life expanding†wisdom. With meditation, we start valuing ourselves. We become confident and start expressing about our own dreams and aspirations. We take initiatives and seize opportunities. We restore our inner child nature to its divine nature and live a life of deep happiness and fulfilment.
Along with meditation, one can also take special programs on inner child for accelerated transformation. Quantum Life University (qluglobal.org) founded by Dr. Newton offers excellent programs in this area.
Best Wishes
