Headway Welcomes Susan Chiang as Chief Information Security Officer

Our world-class team continues to grow! We’re excited to welcome Susan Chiang as Chief Information Security Officer. An accomplished technology executive, Susan brings a wealth of security, strategy and healthcare experience from her time at some of the most trusted companies like Cloudflare, Salesforce and Deloitte. Susan will lead a team across data privacy and security, engineering and IT with one goal in mind: to ensure that Headway remains the most trusted platform for mental health care providers and their patients.?

In a world where cybersecurity incidents in healthcare are rising — (according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, there was a 93% increase in large breaches reported from 2018 to 2022) — this investment in top-tier security leadership is critical. This also comes on the heels of the company’s announced expansion to Medicare Advantage and Medicaid plans.??

Most recently, Susan was Acting Chief Security Officer at Cloudflare, a large internet company known for data privacy, where she oversaw engineering, operations and technical program management functions across the Security organization. She also previously held roles at Salesforce and Deloitte, where she focused on M&A, technology and healthcare consulting.?

In addition to her professional achievements, Susan is a recognized advocate for empowering women and underrepresented groups in the security industry. She was honored as a Women in IT Security Advocate by SC Media in 2023. Susan holds a degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and is based in San Francisco.
