School Heads threatened with legal action by Government !

Interesting as have seen no sign of "legal action" against schools not yet publishing their "Accessibility Statements" and/or for failing to enable 30% of children to read fluently enough to "participate in learning" resulting from non-compliance with the UK Governments own 2018 Accessibility Regulations that had a deadline Sept 2020 and/or International Accessibility Standards.

Bearing in mind in 2016 the WHO declared a Global Pandemic in vision stress, eye-strain / "Asthenopia" causing 3D binocular vision loss, commonly presenting in early onset blurred or worse double vision, not only, in DSE operators in the workplace but, 50% more children in the 21st Digital Century!

Perhaps the Government needs threatening with legal action for failing to ensure all schools, as well as in FE & HE compliant with International "Accessibility Standards" thereby preventing visual stress injuries and enabling Access to Text or Functional Literacy for ALL children in education, training or secure estate ?

After all said and done, they "cannot claim ignorance as a defence" because, their own Health & Safety Executive identified the scale of risk in the HSE Better Display Screen RR 561 2007 !

And the UK Appeal Courts in 2011 retrospectively agreed that regardless of, "being compliant with any current regulations" at the time, "failure to address known risks" was "no excuse" and therefore employers were fully liable for the injuries caused.

So, what are we going to do ?
