We were honored to receive an Award of Excellence in the “Single Media Placement Print or Broadcast” category from OCPRSA - Orange County Chapter of PRSA PROTOS Awards for “Responding to Fontana Building Moratorium Blocking Health Center Construction” in recognition of our work with Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties and its ongoing efforts to ensure residents of Fontana, Calif. have accessible healthcare.

Work We're Proud Of
On Sept. 5, Meals on Wheels San Diego County hosted an open house event for their new kitchen and “senior innovation hub” located in Kearny Mesa, attracting several community VIPs, including San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria . This is a one-stop-shop for local seniors and family caregivers in need of nutrition services and other resources, as Meals on Wheels San Diego County welcomes other senior-focused nonprofits to co-locate in the new space. Support The Enlisted Project (STEP) “Halloween Costume Drive” to collect new or gently used costumes for children is in its final stretch! There's still time to make a difference by purchasing costumes from STEP's virtual store, ensuring every local military child has a chance to celebrate Halloween. Costumes will be given out at STEP’s October distribution event for military families (pre-registration is required).
Since the overturn of Roe v. Wade, Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties (PPOSBC) has kept its finger on the pulse to continue serving the community. In this New York Times coverage, PPOSBC President and CEO Jon Dunn shared more about how the City of Fontana created unforeseen obstacles when the organization began building a new center in the heart of downtown. These obstacles arose after PPOSBC had already made substantial headway on the project. Read the full article.

Agency Co-CEO and Founding Partner Denise Scatena, M.A. serves on the SOUTH CLAIREMONT PARK AND RECREATION COUNCIL board, which hosted Clairemont Family Day earlier this month. Thousands attended, enjoying pony rides, magic shows, a car show, community booths, live performances, challenge courses, and AquaFest, San Diego's biggest family-friendly pool party, featuring an in-water inflatable obstacle course, water safety activities, swim lesson demos, and more.
We enjoyed coffee and conversation with fellow higher education communicators at PRSA San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter ’s Higher Education networking mixer last week. Scatena Daniels Communications was proud to sponsor this event.
