???CBS News: How the group behind the Supreme Court abortion drug case is expanding its fight globally
“The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) has emerged as a formidable force in shaping conservative legal landscapes both in the U.S. and globally. This global impact underscores ADF's powerful role in advocating for conservative values and reshaping legal precedents worldwide.”
GPAHE’s Take: Watch GPAHE co-founder Heidi Beirich, Ph.D. discuss the negative impact of the ADF on global human rights with CBS News. The ADF has been instrumental in shaping legal landscapes both in the United States and Europe, with notable success in leveraging courts to advance their rights-restricting, Christian nationalist policies. Learn more about ADF’s international reach that has influenced the anti-abortion movement in the UK, just as they have in the U.S.
???The New York Times: Man Plotted Mass Shooting in Atlanta to Incite ‘Race War,’ Officials Say
“Mark Adams Prieto hatched a plan to carry out a mass shooting targeting Black people and other people of color at a concert in Atlanta in May. Mr. Prieto intended for the shooting to incite a “race war” before the presidential election. He suggested leaving behind Confederate flags at the attack site and shouting things like “Black lives don’t matter, white lives matter,” to make clear the shooting was racially motivated.”

GPAHE’s Take: This attempt to plan and carry out a mass shooting as a means to incite a ‘race war’ is known as ‘accelerationism.’ Accelerationism is a violent ideology endorsed by terrorist organizations like the Atomwaffen Division, whose members were arrested last year for planning an attack that would have taken down Baltimore’s power grid. Read GPAHE’s testimony before the US House Homeland Security Committee, Intelligence and Counterterrorism on the grave dangers of this white supremacist movement. “When it comes to white supremacists and other far-right extremists, their accelerationist variant sees modern society as irredeemable and [they] believe it should be pushed to collapse so a fascist society built on ethnonationalism can take its place… They specifically believe that violence is the only way to change politics, and they want to ‘accelerate’ that change through violent actions to destabilize political systems with the goal of establishing white supremacist states.” Read the full testimony here.
???Texas Tribune: Speakers pull out of prominent activist group’s pro-Christian nationalist conference
“True Texas Project is a key part of a powerful political network used to push the state GOP and Legislature to adopt their hardline opposition to immigration, LGBTQ+ rights and public education.”
GPAHE’s Take: GPAHE has been ringing the alarm on the rise of far-right Christian nationalist groups and their rights-stripping agenda, ties to election denialism, and their promotion of the extremely dangerous conspiracy theory, The Great Replacement. We’re grateful that journalists, like Robert Downen from the Texas Tribune, report on these far-right developments and that we can be a resource to them. Read our profile on the True Texas Project, to understand what this group stands for.
Together, we can combat hate and extremism and change the world.
