Travellers Warned to Expect Disruption During UK Border Force Strike
Travellers to the UK are being warned to “prepare for disruption” when Border Force staff are due to hold their upcoming strike, next week.
Immigration staff based at UK airports and maritime ports, who are members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union, are set to walk out on Wednesday, 1 February, until 7am on Thursday, 2 February. The upcoming strike is the latest industrial action in their ongoing dispute with the UK government over pay.
Accor Launches Collection of Midscale Hotels
Accor announced last Thursday that it has launched a new global, midscale brand of dubbed Handwritten Collection, with twelve properties signed and seven set to debut by May 2023.
ARC: December US Airfares Continue to Drop
December domestic roundtrip airfares declined about 4.8 percent month over month to $531 versus $558 in November, according to Airlines Reporting Corp. It is the second monthly decline in a row. The December 2022 average fare was up 15.4 percent from $460, one year prior. December ARC-accredited travel agency air ticket sales totaled $5.5 billion, a 76 percent increase year over year, but down 16 percent from November 2022.?
