Heading to South Africa! (virtually)
I've been invited to present at two separate evaluation events hosted by South African evaluation organizations. This month, I will speaking at a webinar entitled "Power, Rank and Evaluations" hosted by the South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA). There, I will be describing and providing evidence of the effect of intellectual colonialism on the practice of assessment and evaluation within Indigenous communities.
In November, I will be presenting at the Africa Evaluation Indaba, a celebration of evaluation in Africa sponsored by the Centre for Learning on Evaluation and Results – Anglophone Africa (CLEAR-AA) that will bring together monitoring and evaluation practitioners and evaluation stakeholders across the continent. The Indaba will celebrate evaluation on the continent, examine efforts to indigenize evaluation, and to look to the future of indigenizing evaluation. The Indaba is inspired by the Made in Africa evaluation agenda.
Looking forward to engaging with a new group of evaluation colleagues. Special thanks to Mokgophana Ramasobana for his gracious networking skills, and to SAMEA and CLEAR-AA for their welcoming hospitality!
