Headache may be defined as a painful sensation in any part of the head or face starting from sharp to dull, that can arise with different symptoms. It might be consistent.

Headaches may be more complex than most people realize. Different types may have their own set of symptoms, occur for specific reasons, and need specific treatments.

Common Causes Of Headache:

Headaches may have causes that aren't due to underlying diseases. Examples include loss of sleep, a wrong eyeglass prescription, stress, loud noise exposure, or tight headwear.

During a headache, an unknown mechanism turns on particular nerves that affect muscles and blood vessels. These nerves send pain alerts to the brain.

Types Of Headaches Are:

There are numerous hundred forms of headaches, however, there are four very common types: sinus, tension, migraine, and cluster.?

Tension Headaches

Tension headaches are the most common form of headache amongst adults and teens. They cause slight to moderate pain and come and go over time. They typically don't have any other symptoms.

Migraine Headaches

Migraine headaches are frequently defined as pounding, throbbing pain. They can last from four hours to three days and typically occur in one to four instances a month.

Along with the pain, people have other symptoms, including sensitivity to light, noise, or smells; nausea or vomiting; lack of appetite; and upset belly or stomach pain

Cluster Headaches

These headaches are the most intense. You could have severe burning or piercing pain at the back of or around one eye. It may be throbbing or consistent. The pain may be so terrible that most people with cluster headaches can’t sit still and could frequently pace for the duration of an attack.

Sinus Headaches

With sinus headaches, you experience deep and consistent pain in your cheekbones, forehead, or the bridge of your nose. They occur when cavities on your head, called sinuses, get inflamed.

The pain typically comes in conjunction with different sinus symptoms, like a runny nose, fullness in the ears, fever, and a swollen face.

Treatment Of Headache

You need to see a physician in case you observe any of the following:?

  • ?Feel worse than usual.
  • Get a sudden, intense, and frequent headache.
  • Become confused, slur your speech, or faint.
  • Have one-sided numbness or paralysis, or problem seeing, talking, or walking.
  • Develop a fever higher than 102°F (39°C).
  • Experience nausea or vomiting.
  • Can't work, sleep or do everyday activities.
  • Don't improve with self-remedy just like the following:
  • Resting in a quiet, dark room.
  • Massaging the head with hot or cold compresses.
  • Taking Over-The-Counter medicinal drugs like ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and aspirin.
